The best option to replace your current Shelby Winch would be to use a winch like the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch, Single Speed, # DL15303. This winch has a 1,400 lbs horizontal pulling capacity and has the zinc Tuffplate finish for rust and corrosion protection.

To replace your old Fulton XLT1401 Trailer Winch I recommend using the Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch part # FW20000301. This winch has a bit higher weight capacity than the XLT1401, so it's going to put less stress on the winch and make it last longer; at the end of the day, it's actually a bit of an upgrade.

Since you currently have a 1500 lb capacity winch, I'd recommend staying with that capacity, as long as it's working well for you.

If a winch assembly is used beyond its rated capacity, corroded from severe exposure to the elements or otherwise mechanically damaged in some way it may require replacement. If the main structure/housing is intact then it may only be necessary to replace the wire rope or nylon strap periodically if these show extreme wear or deterioration. For a wooden bunk trailer the rule of thumb is to go with a winch that has a rating that is at least 50 percent of the weight of the boat. Let's say your boat weighs a total of 2,500 lbs when totally loaded up and counting the weight of the motor. So going with a winch with at least a 1,250 lb capacity would be recommended.

The closest I can come to the same mounting holes you have for your DL1402A winch is part # DL14527.
This is a 1,600-lb pulling winch and it has very similar mounting hole locations. I have attached dimensional drawings for the DL1402A and the # DL14527 winch you can check out. The mounting holes are nearly identical and I am sure the # DL14527 will work great for you. This winch does not come with the cable.

The handle on your Dutton Lainson Winch Model DL1800A is 9-1/2" long so there are two short handle options.
The # DL70336 which is 6" long, or the # DL70334 which is 8-1/2" long.
Keep in mind that the shorter the handle is the less leverage you will have and the harder it will be to winch your boat onto the trailer. I recommend going with the longest winch handle you can fit for the easiest time using the winch.

The Fulton T1802 was discontinued quite a while ago. Unfortunately, this means that replacement parts for the winch are no longer around. The best solution is to replace it with a similar winch like the Fulton Single Speed Trailer Winch - 1,800 lbs # F142306.
